Winter Park at The Orion extended, new events scheduled

Temps will cool once again on Friday after a storm front makes it way through the region today, leading to what promises to be a beautiful weekend. It will be a great time to check out the fun at the Orion Amphitheater in Huntsville’s MidCity District.

Winter Park at The Orion and Apollo Park has been extended and will now run through February 20 with adjusted hours.

Winter Park is an immersive winter themed experience bringing the magic of the season to life throughout The Orion’s campus. It is free to enter with additional activities and food available for purchase. At Winter Park, guests will be able to ice skate under the stars in the amphitheater bowl, relax with a warm (or cold!) drink and DIY s’mores kits around one of the fire pits, and enjoy festive events, treats and crafts.

Winter Park will be open daily on the following schedule:
Monday – Thursday | 5 PM – 9 PM

Friday | 5 PM – 11 PM

Saturday | 12 PM – 11 PM

Sunday | 12 PM – 9 PM

They will be celebrating the following holidays with special offers, including:
January 14 – Dress Up Your Pet Day 

Free Puppuccinos for Dressed Up Pets

January 17 – Hot Buttered Rum Day

$1 Off Hot Drinks

January 20 – DJ Day 

Skate Under The Stars to 90’s Hip Hop tunes spun by DJ Ya Boi Boi

January 25 – Irish Coffee Day 

$1 Off Hot Drinks including coffee & Irish coffee.

January 28 – Global Community Engagement Day 

Coat Drive – Skate free for each new or gently used coat donation.

January 31 – Hot Chocolate Day 

$1 Off Hot Drinks including spiked & non alcoholic hot chocolate.

Friday’s are $5 skate nights with themed DJ sets from 7:30 – 10:30 p.m.

January 13 – 90’s hip hop night with DJ Skeme

January 20 – 2000’s night with DJ Ya Boi Boi

January 27 – 80’s night with DJ Donye West

On School Spirit Saturdays, teachers will skate free with a valid badge. Students can skate for $10 if dressed in school colors or gear.

January 14 – Madison City Schools

January 28 – Huntsville City Schools

February 4 – Madison County Schools

 

On MLK Weekend, Winter Park will have extended hours and live music.

January 13 – 90’s hip hop night with DJ Skeme | $5 skate night

January 14 – Local live music under the dome from 7:30 – 10:30 p.m.

January 16 – $5 Skate for Adults & Kids all day, plus bounce houses & bingo under the dome from 1-4 PM. On this day, Winter Park will be open from 1 PM – 9 PM.

 

Lastly, Winter Park host the following community organizations to the rink:

January 17 – Huntsville Havoc Night 

Skate with team members of the Huntsville Havoc! Show up in your Havoc gear for $10 skating for adults & kids.

January 24 – Cummings Research Park Night 
Cummings Research Park Employees skate free with badge or work ID.

February 7 – First Responders Night

Medical, Fire and Law Enforcement skate free with badge or work ID.

 

They will also be hosting two immersive yoga classes hosted by Maria Brito on January 18 and 25 in the Artist Dining Room. These fully immersive classes feature noise isolation, fewer distractions and more presence of the mat. Through perfectly curated playlists that include nature sounds and upbeat music, Maria takes her yogis through an introspective journey.  The sounds are pumped directly into participants’ ears and Maria’s soothing voice guides her students into an altered state of self-awareness. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here.
