One dead, three injured in Limestone wreck

One person is dead and three were injured after an accident Tuesday morning on Mooresville Road near Stewart Lane in Limestone County, said Limestone County coroner Mike West.

The deceased was identified as James Cribbs, 69, of Toney.

The fatality was determined at the scene, West said. Two of the injured were taken to Huntsville Hospital by ground, and one was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital, he said. The condition of the victims is currently unknown.

The two-vehicle crash occurred around 4:36 a.m., blocking all lanes of Mooresville Road, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said in a statement. The collision involved a van and a pickup.

West said he believed either the van or the pickup truck involved in the collision crossed a lane. The van was going south on Mooresville Road, and the truck was going north, he said.

The wreck remains under investigation.
