Local churches planning Christmas Eve services to celebrate the birth of Christ

MADISON – First Baptist Church Madison and many other churches within the area are welcoming the community to Christmas Eve Service on Dec 24.

At First Baptist Church Madison, beginning at 6 p.m. attendees will enjoy a service filled with candles, traditional music with an organist and pianist, special music presentations, Homily, the Children’s Nativity and the Lighting of the Christ Candle in the Advent wreath, plus a church wide candle lighting to Silent Night. Following the service, attendees are invited to join in a reception of coffee, cider, hot chocolate, and Christmas sweets where you can see old friends and meet new neighbors. This is a service for the entire family; babies are welcomed. No childcare will be provided.

“As the community regains strength from weathering the 2020 pandemic and begins to enjoy the growth of being named a must-live-in area of our nation, FBC Madison is standing ready to support her growing community: the military, seniors, singles, students, professionals, and families,” said Mary Jo Gessner, Minister of Pastoral Care at FBC Madison. “Christmas is a nostalgic and traditional holiday we all love to celebrate, and this Christmas Eve Service provides a special, music-full and faith-rooted celebration for us to come together as a community to honor our faith and celebrate the reason for the season. “It’s a service that has been joined by the Madison community for decades.”

First Baptist Church Madison is located at 4257 Sullivan Street, in the historic district of Madison. Led by pastor Bert Breland, FBC Madison has been a staple to the loca area since 1984. For more information about the church, go to fbcmadison.net or call 256-772-9712.
