Madison church to host World Banana Pudding Eating Championship

Top-ranked eaters will converge in Madison for inaugural event, $3,000 in prize money

MADISON – Major League Eaters will make the pilgrimage to Madison, Alabama, to compete in Fight Night: The 2022 Major League Eating World Banana Pudding Championship. The event will take place at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, August 5, at CrossPointe Church, 78 Hughes Rd, in Madison.

Competitors will have eight minutes to consume as much banana pudding as they can. The champion will establish a new world record in the banana pudding-eating discipline.

“Banana pudding is widely regarded as one of the American South’s most prominent comfort foods,” said Major League Eating Emcee Sam Barclay. “But, if they are to succeed, eaters must stay focused on quantity, and refrain from enjoying the quality of Apple Lane Farm’s award-winning banana pudding.”

Top eating talent will include #2-ranked Geoffrey Esper of Oxford, MA; #4-ranked Nick Wehry of Tampa, FL; #11-ranked Patrick Bertoletti of Chicago, IL; #17-ranked George Chiger of Pocono Pines, PA; #30-ranked Greg Wilson of Austin, TX; #31-ranked Crazy Legs Conti of New York, NY; Matthew Cohen of Maryville, TN; Andy Krawczyk of Raleigh, NC; and Steven Farlow of Browns Summit, NC.
