Summer Day Camp at Hogan Family YMCA makes memories

MADISON – The staff at Hogan Family YMCA believes that Summer Day Camp is an opportunity that will last a lifetime.

“Qualified and well trained staff will lead children in themed activities that include arts, sports, games, swimming and much more,” Hogan Family Program Director Josh Campbell said. “Day camps are full of kid-friendly adventures.

Summer day camps are open to children who will enter kindergarten through eighth grade. Camp runs Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

YMCA Camp offers children positive developmental experiences and encourages them to forge bonds with each other and with staff by building confidence through skill-building, age-appropriate activities. “Day Camp is the best place for your kids to enjoy their best summer ever,” Campbell said.

Day campers can explore creativity, teamwork and leadership in a wide range of physically active programs that influence lifelong healthy living. They can enjoy an outdoor environment where they can develop an appreciation of nature, Campbell said.

Day camp builds an interest in community with experiences in local and global cultures where campers gain an appreciation for others different from themselves. Today, Day Camp is more vital than ever, with an increased emphasis on child safety, summer learning traditions, personal values and social skills.

YMCA members will pay the weekly fee per child of $155 (minus deposit); each week, a non-refundable $25 deposit is required and due at registration. Families who are not YMCA members will pay the weekly fee per child of $205 (minus deposit) and non-refundable deposit of $25.

In addition, day and overnight camps are offered at YMCA Camp Cha-La-Kee in Guntersville. At various times during the year, both Huntsville and Madison YMCA sites schedule sports camps for young athletes,

Hogan Family YMCA’s address is 130 Park Square Lane. For more information, call Campbell at 256-705-9622 or email josh.campbell@ymcahuntsville.org.
