U.S. Postal Service to host job fairs on July 8 and 9

The U.S. Postal Service is holding a job fair in multiple locations on Friday, July 8, and in Huntsville on July 9. Postal officials will be onsite to answer employment questions and to assist candidates with the application process between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at each of these locations

  • Hartselle Post Office, 201 Cedar St N, Hartselle, AL 35640
  • Harvest Post Office, 9157 Wall Triana Rd, Harvest, AL 35749
  • Madison Post Office, 56 Hughes Rd, Madison, AL 35758
  • Owens Cross Roads Post Office, 8396 Highway 431, Owens Cross Roads, AL 35763
  • Wynn Drive Post Office, 645 Wynn Dr NW, Huntsville, AL 35816

The job fair in Huntsville on Saturday, July 9, will also be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will take place in the parking lot of the Huntsville General Mail Facility, 3408 Wall Triana Highway, Huntsville, AL 35813.

Postal officials will be onsite to share information about delivery and/or retail positions in Athens, Decatur, Elkmont, Florence, Hartselle, Harvest, Huntsville, Madison, and Owens Cross Roads in the $18-$19 salary range.

Job seekers may bring their children who will have an opportunity to be photographed with a postal vehicle staged in the parking lot. Postal-themed coloring pages also will be distributed to children for their entertainment.

Assistant Rural Carrier (ARC)

Salary: $19.06 per hour

Hiring in Athens, Decatur, Elkmont, Florence, Hartselle, Harvest, Huntsville, Madison, Owens Cross Roads

This employee will deliver and collect packages along routes in rural areas and will provide a variety                 of services to customers along an assigned route. The successful applicant may be required to provide their own vehicle for transportation. As an ARC, you may opt to provide service to your community on weekends and holidays or up to seven days each week; whichever suits your lifestyle. If you enjoy working outdoors, while keeping your week free, this position may be a great fit for you.

City Carrier Assistant (CCA)

Salary: $18.92 per hour

Hiring in Athens, Decatur, Huntsville

As a City Carrier Assistant (CCA), you will deliver and collect mail on foot or by vehicle in a city area.                  You also will maintain good relations with customers and will have a general familiarity with postal laws, regulations, and products for your area. A CCA will provide a critical service to their community by ensuring mail delivery during weekdays, weekends, and holidays with opportunities for career promotion. A CCA may be eligible for certain benefits, including paid leave and health insurance. If you enjoy being active and interacting with customers, this position is ideal.

Rural Carrier Associate (RCA)

Salary: $19.06 per hour

Hiring in Athens, Decatur, Elkmont, Florence, Hartselle, Harvest, Huntsville, Madison, and Owens Cross Roads

In this role, you will deliver and collect packages along routes in rural areas during weekdays, weekends, and holidays. You also will provide a variety of services to customers along your assigned route. You may be required to use a personal vehicle if a postal vehicle is not provided. As an RCA, you may be eligible to receive health benefits and promotion to a career opportunity. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy staying active and working independently outdoors with occasional customer service interactions.

Postal Support Employee (PSE) Sales and Services/Distribution Associate (SSDA)

Salary: $18.69 per hour 

Hiring in Harvest, Huntsville, Madison

A successful applicant will perform a variety of sales and customer support services. This job primarily involves providing services to customers at the retail counter at the Post Office. Benefits may include paid vacation leave and health insurance. If you enjoy working regularly with the public, this position may be an excellent fit for you.
