Sparkman Track Athletes Earn Scholarships
Amanda Paige Davis signed a track scholarship with UAH. At Sparkman High she competed in sprints including the 100, 200, and 4x100 and 4x400 relays. Davis was a member of the 2021 4x100-meter relay squad which won a state championship. She also participated on the 4x100-meter relay squad that took third at the State Meet in 2022. She has a personal best of 12.01-seconds in the 100-meter dash and 25.03 in the 200-meter. Davis will carry a 3.5 grade point average to UAH. Photo Contributed

Sparkman Track Athletes Earn Scholarships

HARVEST- Terrant Young (6-2, 280), who played offensive line for the Sparkman football team where he was First Team All-Region and All-State has signed with Kentucky Wesleyan and will play both football and track. Young has a 3.3 grade point average. He competed in the discus, shot put and hammer throw. He recently placed sixth in the discus at the Class 7A State Track Meet.

Ahmier Cawthorne recently signed a scholarship with Butler Community College of El Dorado, Kansas. He will run track for the Grizzlies after great performances at Sparkman High. With the Senators he had personal bests of 52.62 in the 400m, 23.30 in the 200m and 44.32 in the 300m hurdles. Cawthorne also competed on the 4x400m relay team. He completed his studies at Sparkman with a 2.77 grade point average.
