Youngsters can enjoy Easter Egg Hunts at Dublin, churches
MADISON – Madison churches and a city park are welcoming the change in seasons with amusing lawn games for Easter.
Sponsored by the City of Madison, the Madison Easter ‘Egg’stravaganza’ will be held on the grounds of Dublin Park at 8324 Old Madison Pike. The event will entertain children on April 16 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
The Egg’stravaganza is free to all children.
Children can attend one of two hunts on Soccer Field 1 that will be divided for age groups. Children who range from one to five years old will hunt at 9 a.m. Then at 10:30 a.m., the six-year-olds through 10-year-olds will take the field for hunting.
Inflatable attractions will be set up on Soccer Field 2. Throughout the hunts, the Easter Bunny will be waiting to pose for photographs with the children.
A free shuttle service will run round-trip from Bob Jones High School to Dublin Park. Handicap parking only will be open at Dublin Park.

Another Easter-related event at Dublin Park will be the Special Needs Easter Egg’stravaganza on April 16 in the main building at Dublin Park. The event will start with registration and check-in 12:30 p.m. The children will start to hunt Easter eggs at 1 p.m. Activities, game and refreshments will be available from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
This event is targeted for individuals with special needs of all ages, along with their immediate families.
To participate, an RSVP to info.mcdab@gmail.com will be required. In the email message, include the individuals’ name, the number of children planning to participate and a contact phone number.
Sponsors for the Special Needs Easter Egg’stravaganza are The City of Madison and the Madison City Disability Advocacy Board or MCDAB.
One of several churches that are holding an Easter Egg Hunt is Madison United Methodist Church at 127 Church St. in downtown Madison.
Madison UMC is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt, along with photos with the Easter Bunny, on April 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is free.
Photo time with the Easter Bunny will include delicious snacks at 11 a.m. The age-divided Easter Egg Hunt will open at 11:30 a.m.
