Convicted murderer from Hazel Green denied parole
The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles said Tuesday that a convicted murderer from Hazel Green was denied parole last week. Curtis Anderson, 55, who plead guilty to the 2005 murder of Tonya Peavy in September 2008, had a parole hearing on July 29.
News reports at the time of Peavy’s murder in 2005 stated Huntsville investigators said it appeared the couple had been involved in a domestic dispute at their home where she was shot. They believed Anderson dumped Peavy’s body behind a vacant building on Brown Street where it was found.
Anderson’s 2008 guilty plea included a 25 year sentence. He has been held at the North Alabama Community Work Center, just outside of Decatur. His next parole hearing date is July 1, 2026.
