New flagpole going up at Madison City Stadium

MADISON – Operations workers for Madison City Schools unloaded a giant flagpole Tuesday that will soon be installed at Madison City Stadium.
According to MCS spokesperson John Peck, the 60-foot flagpole and 15-foot by 25-foot American Flag come compliments of SIGMATECH and American Legion Post 229, which partnered to gift it to the school system.
Madison County District 2 Commissioner Steve Haraway will have crews assist in the installation on the far south end of the field.
“We appreciate the gift and look forward to having the new flagpole flying the much larger banner,” Peck said.
