Local Squads Race To Indoor Track Success
The indoor track and field season is now underway and local teams have placed well in recent competitions.

Local Squads Race To Indoor Track Success

BIRMINGAHM- The indoor track season for high schools across Alabama is in full swing heading into the holiday period. Both Bob Jones and James Clemens were busy as both participated in the multi-day events in Birmingham held at the CrossPlex. Each of the events were qualifying meets for the AHSAA State Indoor Championships scheduled for Feb. 5-6.

In the Holiday Invitational No. 4, the final results included:

Boys: 4x200m- 3. Bob Jones, 1:36.23; 60-meter- 2. Chad Coulter, James Clemens, 7:07; 60-m hurdles- 1. Tyler Pitts, Bob Jones, 8.58; high jump- 2. Cosey Scarebrook, Bob Jones, 6.00; shot put- 2. Jaylen Drake, James Clemens, 41-08; triple jump- 1. Kendall Russell, James Clemens, 41-00.50, 3. Michael Ross, James Clemens, 39-07.50.

Girls: 1600-meter- 3. Kayla Willett, James Clemens, 5:32.43; 4x200m- 3. James Clemens, 1:58.25; 60m-hurdles- 1. Cadence Huntsinger, James Clemens, 9.76; long jump- 2. Kalah Christopher, Bob Jones, 15-09, 3. Cadence Huntsinger, James Clemens, 15-08; shot put- 3. Taylor Thompson, Bob Jones, 11.4; triple jump- 2. Cadence Huntsinger, James Clemens, 34-05.

In the Magic City Invitational No. 2, the final results included:

Boys: 60m- 2. Tyler Pitts, Bob Jones, 7.22; 800m- 3. Mateo Santiago, Bob Jones, 2:08.92; 60m hurdles- 2. Tyler Pitts, Bob Jones, 8.56; 400m- 3. Jordan Morrison, Bob Jones, 52.58.

Girls: shot put- 2. Adaeze Okafor, Bob Jones, 30-00, 3. Tyler Thompson, Bob Jones, 27-08; high jump- 1. Mercedes Zich, Bob Jones, 4-10; 800m- 3. Ebba Detulleo, Bob Jones, 2:35.46; 60m- 3. Faith Mason, Bob Jones, 8.12; 4x200m- 2. Bob Jones, 1:56.55.

In the Magic City Invitational No. 3, the final results included:

Boys: 60m- 3. Ephraim Rolingson, James Clemens, 7.28; long jump- 3. Benjamin Thomas, James Clemens, 19-02; triple jump- 3. Kendall Russell, James Clemens, 42-03.50.

Girls: long jump- 1. Xanyah Edwards, James Clemens, 16-09; triple jump- 1. Xanyah Edwards, James Clemens, 34-05.25, 2. Cadence Huntsinger, James Clemens, 34-03; shot put- 3. Cadence Huntsinger, James Clemens, 33-00.25.

Many of the results were personal records and state qualifiers for the individual athletes.
