Signalink Serves employee foundation donates to Still Serving Veterans

MADISON – Employees at one local business have endorsed the tenet that ‘it’s better to give than receive.’

Signalink Serves, the employees’ charitable foundation with Signalink Inc., has donated funds to Still Serving Veterans non-profit organization.

Founded in 2005, Signalink is a small business in Madison that specializes in engineering and technical services in systems engineering, design and prototyping, manufacturing, integration, logistics, operations and sustainment, test and evaluation, software development, systems administration and configuration management.

Signalink selected Still Serving Veterans to receive a check for $6,000 as its beneficiary for charitable drives in 2020.

“Signalink is comprised of many veterans to include our owners and myself, so it was really special for me to attend the presentation of our donation to the Still Serving Veterans team,” Signalink Integration Lead Dan Melton said. This contribution originated entirely from Signalink employees.

Still Serving Veterans is a nonprofit organization that offers various services to help veterans, military service members, members of the National Guard and Reserves, along with military spouses.

Each year, Signalink employees select a non-profit organization to receive contributes for the year. Signalink Serves gathers information and coordinates with the chosen group to best align the company’s resources and focus, Signalink CEO Alice Lessmann said.

In addition to the monetary donation, Signalink participated in and was a sponsor for the 15th annual Still Serving Veterans Golf Tournament on Oct. 9 at Cherokee Ridge Country Club in Union Grove. This annual event supports veterans and their families with career assistance, benefits and services, while providing meaningful interactions through leadership and collaboration.

“Participating in this event not only supported our veterans but was a really fun teambuilding activity,” Jeff Dowell said. Dowell is Senior Vice President of Signalink.

In addition, Signalink donated toys alongside Still Serving Veterans to the Toys for Tots program this year.

Founded in 2005, Signalink specializes in technical services that support warfighter needs. Signalink received the 2020 Government Contracting Technology Business of the Year Award from the Huntsville/Madison Chamber of Commerce and the 2019 Best Business Award from Madison Chamber of Commerce.

Signalink promotes giving back to the community by supporting non-profit organizations, local city schools and other outreach programs to help communities thrive.
