Trash Pandas to host “On-Field Movie Night” on Friday

MADISON – Baseball action may be on hold for the time being, but that does not mean the fun has to put on hold at Madison’s new Toyota Field. On Saturday, the Rocket City Trash Pandas invited the community to a black party with a fireworks show, this week they are hosting movie night.

“Angels in the Outfield” will take flight on the Toyota Field videoboard on Friday night.

The Rocket City Trash Pandas’ first “On-Field Movie Night” will be held Friday, June 12, presented by Paragon Research Corporation. Gates will open at 6 p.m. and showtime for “Angels in the Outfield” is set for 7 p.m.

Admission is $10 for Adults, $8 for kids ages 12 & under, kids 2 and under are free. Tickets are on sale now at TrashPandasBaseball.com/events and at the Toyota Field Ticket Office.

“When we announced Toyota Field in Madison would be the epicenter of the North Alabama’s Summer schedule, we had family-friendly nights like this in mind,” exclaimed Trash Pandas President & CEO Ralph Nelson. “What better setting for a baseball-themed movie?” It’s the most well-kept lawn and biggest TV screen in North Alabama.”

Guests will be able to sit in the outfield of Toyota Field and are encouraged to bring blankets. CDC Compliant social distancing guidelines will be in place. Attendees can also choose to find seats in the seating bowl as well.

Select Toyota Field concession stands will be open for the event, going above and beyond your typical movie-theatre fare.

Disney’s “Angels in the Outfield” is a re-make of the 1951 version and features a star-studded cast including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Matthew McConaughey, Adrian Brody, Tony Danza, Danny Glover, and Christopher Lloyd.

Gordon-Levitt stars as 12-year-old Roger, a level-headed foster child who is told he can have a family if only MLB’s Angels can win the American League pennant. The film’s runtime is 1 hour and 42 minutes.

The Rocket City Trash Pandas are the Double-A Affiliate of MLB’s Angels. The Trash Pandas play games, and host events, at state-of-the-art Toyota Field in Madison, Alabama and are members of the Southern League. For directions to Toyota Field please visit TrashPandasBaseball.com.
