Rate of new COVID-19 cases continues slowdown in Madison County

The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) reports that Madison County now has 203 cases of COVID-19 with four deaths from the illness. That is up by just one since this morning. Limestone County still has 40 cases and no deaths.

The rate of new cases has drastically slowed down over the past week. Since last Tuesday the number of cases in Madison County has only increased by 12.

There are a total of 5,296 cases of COVID-19 in Alabama, according to the ADPH as of Tuesday, April 21, at 5:30 p.m. There are currently 820,104 cases of COVID-19 nationwide, with 44,228 deaths and 75,177 recovered, according to Johns Hopkins University.

Statewide there have been 181 deaths reported with 144 of those confirmed by the ADPH. The department also reports 699 total hospitalizations due to COVID-19.
