Thursday morning’s update on the coronavirus outbreak in Alabama shows the state at 1,116 cases as of 9:30 a.m. Madison County has 107 and Limestone has 23 cases. The reported deaths from the virus increased to 32 overnight, with 17 of those confirmed by the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH). The death toll in Madison County remains at one.
The ADPH is also showing that 7,774 people have been tested for COVID-19. That number may actually be higher because some commercial labs do not report negative specimens. Commercial labs are required, by law, to only report positive tests to ADPH.
