Two rounds of severe weather expected Tuesday

U.S. National Weather Service Huntsville Alabama has placed the North Alabama area at a slight risk for two rounds of severe weather on Tuesday, with the first one beginning in the early morning hours and the second one in the early evening.

The primary threats with these systems are gusty winds, lightning, large hail and tornadoes.

Huntsville Utilities said to report a power outage or downed line, call 256-53-LIGHT (256-535-4448). Do NOT report these issues through social media as our dispatch teams do not monitor these pages and they will not receive your report.

If you encounter a downed power line, stay far away and call us at the number listed above immediately.

Stay tuned to local media and the National Weather Service for additional updates as the situation develops.
