All public schools to close for two and half weeks
All K-12 public schools throughout the state will close for two and half weeks starting at the end of day on Wednesday, March 18. They will look at reopening April 6. The announcement was made Friday afternoon by Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey.
Ivey declared a state of emergency due to the spread of coronavirus in the state. Two cases were confirmed Friday, one in Montgomery County and one in Jefferson County.
