Part of Shelton Road to be closed over the weekend for utility work

MADISON – Weather permitting, beginning Saturday, Jan. 25, at 7 a.m., through Sunday, Jan. 26, at 6 p.m., contractors will close Shelton Road just north of the Madison Boulevard to perform utility work associated with the Zierdt Road project.

Shelton Road will be closed approximately 200-feet north of the intersection of Madison Boulevard. The contractor will also be shifting traffic on Zierdt Road just north of Edgewater Drive for asphalt repairs during this time.

Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes to avoid congestion in the area. Through traffic will not be permitted on Shelton Road at Madison Boulevard during this time. Traffic control will be in place to help direct motorists through the construction area.  Please use caution when traveling in this area and obey all traffic control signage.

If further information is needed, please contact Jacob Stephens, with the City of Huntsville Engineering Division, at 256-427-5300.
