Troop 926 Girl Scouts visit vets at Tut Fann

MADISON – Members of Girl Scout Troop 926 of Madison sacrificed time from their winter break from school to share Christmas cheer with individuals at Floyd E. ‘Tut’ Fann State Veterans Home.

The Girl Scouts hosted the December Bingo Day for residents at Tut Fann, 2701 Meridian St. in Huntsville. Madison American Legion, Post 229 coordinates the monthly game session on the fourth Saturday of each month.

“The girls participate in numerous events to support veterans throughout the year,” Jean Downs said. Downs is a member of Madison American Legion, President of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 229 in Madison and a Girl Scout troop leader.

“In addition to hosting the Bingo games, the ladies of Troop 926 gathered donations from multiple Girl Scout troops in the City of Madison and presented each veteran with Christmas treats,” Downs said.
