Students at Rainbow reach fundraising goal to make principal kiss a pig

MADISON – It’s time to pucker up for Rainbow Elementary School principal Brian Givens. The school held a fundraiser with the goal of $15,000. If reached, Givens promised to kiss a pig on Friday. The students ended up raising $15,480.85.

In a rap video released last month to promote the drive, Givens “rapped” a challenge to his students. He promised kiss a pig and supply plenty of silly string, slime and fun on Friday, Nov. 8 if the students raise $15,000 for playground upgrades.

Givens’ video became a hit among the students, several even helped make it. The credits at the end lists Mikhail Jackson as “Call him Steph Curry”, Tanner Thacker as “Skills to Pay the Bills”, Abby Grider as “Explorer Extraordinaire” and Peyton Davis as “Too Cool for School.” He also received some special help from three pigs, peanut, Dexter and Stevie.
