Police trying locate suspect in Sunday’s shooting

MADISON – Madison Police said Monday they have identified a suspect in Sunday afternoon’s deadly shooting at the Kroger on Wall Triana.

Investigators are currently trying to locate the suspect, described as a light skin black male. They believe he and the victim were acquaintances.

According to statement from the police, the MPD was notified by a passerby around 4 p.m. of a gunshot victim who was seen in the rear parking area of Kroger. Officers responded and located a single victim who was transported to the hospital.

According to a HEMSI spokesperson, the victim was transported to the Huntsville Hospital ER in critical condition and later was pronounced dead.

The incident occurred outside the store and there is no indication of any danger to the public, police said.

The names of the suspect and victim have not been released yet.
