Madison Police seeking person of interest in deadly shooting at Kroger

MADISON – The Madison Police are looking for a person of interesting after a deadly shooting Sunday afternoon. They are looking for a light skin black male.

According to Police, officers responded to the scene of a shooting at the Kroger grocery store on Wall Triana Highway around 4 p.m. When they arrived officers found one person had been shot. The victim was transported to Huntsville Hospital and later died.

Lt. Lamar Anderson sent out an alert around 5:30 p.m. asking the public to avoid the area while they process the scene. He added that the Kroger is not closed and that there is no danger to the public.

The victim’s name is not being released at this time, pending notification of family.

Police said the shooting occurred behind the Kroger, not inside the store.
