Frankenfield joins library staff as event coordinator

MADISON – Tessa Frankenfield is applying her aptitude for planning and organizing in a new job position at Madison Public Library.

Frankenfield is working as Event Coordinator for the auditorium and other spaces at the Madison branch. “I’ve always enjoyed planning events, so being able to organize events for the community sounded like a good fit for my skills,” she said.

As event coordinator, Frankenfield manages all event spaces, along with all reservations for the library. “I work with patrons to ensure that they have everything they need to make their event spectacular,” she said.

Events can range in size, even a large social event in an auditorium “that can be two separate rooms or one large room with a gorgeous garage door. Our conference room is perfect for board meetings, while study rooms are great for studying,” Frankenfield said.

Frankenfield helps coordinate organizations’ sessions, along with major events that the librarians are scheduling. “I ensure that both auditoriums are ready and show patrons how to use the rooms’ audio-visual system,” she said.

In addition, she works with patrons to confirm their familiarity with the auditoriums’ resources. “My main goal is to make every patron’s, group’s or organization’s event and experience the best it can be,” Frankenfield said.

Before accepting the job in February 2018, Frankenfield worked as an instructor at The Little Gym of Madison and event host at SkyZone Trampoline Park in Florence. “I attended University of North Alabama in 2014 through 2017. I’m currently finishing my degree in business administration at Calhoun Community College,” she said.

At work, her coworker and counterpart Rob Freese has most influenced her. “Rob has made a big impact on my career,” Frankenfield said. “He is hard working and has incredible customer service. He was a huge help when I was transitioning into my new position. He has made such a positive impact on my career and my life.”

“In my spare time, I enjoy reading and baking. I enjoy decorating cakes and seeing the different ways I can create things,” Frankenfield said.

Madison Public Library’s address is 142 Plaza Blvd. To contact Frankenfield, call 256-774-8337 or email tfrankenfield@hmcpl.org.
