Madison Academy claims Blue Ribbon status

MADISON – Madison Academy has satisfied nine requirements to earn the honor of 2018 Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School.

The Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence organization uses the nine requirements in its assessment process.

Madison Academy successfully qualified for student focus and support; school organization and culture; challenging standards and curriculum; active teaching and learning; technology integration; professional community; leadership and educational vitality; and school, family and community partnerships, along with indicators of success.

Madison Academy will retain the designation for five years.

Blue Ribbon Lighthouse Schools commit to sharing expertise and exemplary practices with other schools on a local, regional, and national level. The schools also provide mentoring and networking to schools seeking guidance and assistance in school improvement initiatives.

“We are grateful to the Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence for their guidance through this process,” said MA President Terry Davis. “I applaud the hard work of our administrators and teachers, the encouragement of our board and the financial support of LAMA, corporations and individuals who believe in our mission. This was a team effort.”

Madison Academy’s educational approach “is based on the premise that we are all created in God’s image, and as such, each student is valued and in some way gifted to make a difference in the world,” according to the MA website.

The selection of Madison Academy as a Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School highlights its success as an innovative and compelling learning environment that engages students and prepares them for success in higher education and life.

“We know that our community places a premium on quality education,” Davis said. “We accept the challenge of providing one that values each person while encouraging growth in body, soul and mind.”

Madison Academy’s primary mission is to provide a quality education in a Christian environment that will help students grow in wisdom, in stature and in favor with God and man. A co-educational private school, Madison Academy serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.

The school’s address is 325 Slaughter Road in Huntsville. The campus is situated on Madison’s eastern city limits. For more information, visit macademy.org.
