Hot Dogz, Cool Cats winners appear on Rocket Republic products

MADISON – Sixteen dogs and cats, along with a snake named Monty, reached the limelight in the Hot Dogz and Cool Cats photo contest.

Greater Huntsville Humane Society sponsored the contest and asked pet owners to submit irresistible views of their dog or cat. Residents voted with monetary donations to select the winners.

Rocket Republic Brewing in Madison is using the pets in their advertising material. The winning dog, Angus, has his photo on a beer can of Rocket Republic’s Apollo Amber.

The other 15 winners have their photos on the brewery’s beer boxes and cartons are featured in the humane society’s 2019 calendar.

Fans of Rocket Republic’s brew attended a release party for Apollo Amber at the Open Bottle on Oct. 18. 

The photogenic pets from Madison include Tiki Tembo. Tiki’s owner, Leigh Christian, submitted a photograph in honor of her beloved pet, who has passed way. Other winners were John Clem and Koda; Janie Deming, Molsen and Lager; Matthew Garrison, Monty; Nicole Vickery, Loki; Lia McAdams, Calvin; Ashley Herron, Oscar; and Kerry Mitchell, Tallulah Belle.

Other winning pets in Hot Dogz, Cool Cats were Samantha Spark, Angus; David Watson, Bear; Shelby Britt, Herriot; Shannon Drake, Artimus; Katey Gates, Paxton; Joan Breault, Louis; Kaitlynn Roark, Hank; Cathy Van Valkenburg, Georgie; Judy Cameron, Andrew; Cindy Conrad, Sky; Nanette Montesani, Madison and Bonita; Sandy Edwards, Gabriel; Alyssa Holden, Mya; and T.J. Lancaster, Willow.

Jerry Nutt coordinated Hot Dogz, Cool Cats. For the humane society, Jill Gardner serves as Executive Director and Shannon Siegel is Marketing Director.
