Mad Al’s Insane Halloween to chill/thrill on Oct. 31

MADISON – Ghoulish games and scary shenanigans will be the dead-ringer focus for Mad Al’s Insane Halloween at Insanity Complex.

Event sponsors are the City of Madison, Insanity Complex and Regions Bank.

“On Oct. 31, the biggest trick-or-treating event of the year is happening at Insanity Complex,” Gayle Milam said. Milam works as the city’s Event and Volunteer Coordinator.

Admission is free. From 5 to 8 p.m., young goblins and magical princesses can trick or treat for candy at tables that local businesses and organizations have decorated. To sponsor a table, business owners and club officers can call Jon Greene at 256-319-0000, ext. 1026 or email jon@insanitycomplex.com.

“The rest of the night will be filled with costume contests, sponsored by 104.3 WZYP,” Milam said. Partygoers can try their luck in the guess-the-number contest, corn hole games, balloon scramble and pie-eating contest. A freeze dance to “The Monster Mash” should be frightfully funny.

“In 2017, we had over 2,000 kids. Let’s see how many we can get this year!” Milam said.

Leading up to Halloween, families can enjoy Mad Al’s Hooligan Hay Ride on Oct. 19-20 and Oct. 26 from 1 to 4 p.m. Cost is $1 per ride.

“This is a family-friendly hayride,” Milam said. “Hop aboard Mad Al’s Hooligan Hay Ride and see Halloween-themed scenes and decorations throughout Insanity Complex’s wooded field.” An adult must accompany 12-year-old children and younger.

For more horrific scares, venture on Mad Al’s Haunted Hayride on Oct. 19-20 and Oct. 26 from 7 p.m. to close at Insanity Complex. Cost is $5 per ride. “Terror awaits in Insanity Complex’s haunted wood. Then, sit back and relax while roasting marshmallows around the fire pit,” Milam said. An adult must accompany 13-year-old children or younger.

Fright Fest on Oct. 27 at Insanity Complex will cater to anyone at least 21 years old. “Grab your friends and come to our Fright Fest party. Deck out in your freakiest costume,” Milam said.

“For Fright Fest, everyone who comes is entered into our costume contest for the chance to win some cool prizes,” Milam said. “Admission is free, and partygoers can buy craft and domestic beer, burgers and hot dogs as they dance to live music, play mini-golf or tackle a batting cage.”
