Calling All Divas: Diva Night

HUNTSVILLE- Fleet Feet of Huntsville is paying tribute to women athletes as the longtime Huntsville owned business will host “Diva Night” on Wednesday, Oct. 24, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Diva Night is an exclusive in-store event where a barrage of local companies will be on site to offer their expertise of various wares and medical needs for women of all ages. Diva Night is free and is open to females of all ages.

“The first 100 women in the store for Diva Night will receive a special goody bag filled with samples from several vendors along with a pair of Swiftwick socks,” said event coordinator Leigh Thigpen.

Swiftwick are performance socks constructed with a seamless toe to remove friction to the toe box along with high technology designed support, breathable channels and y-heel contours, perfect for runners. Fleet Feet will also host an athlete’s fashion show featuring the latest styles and gear for fall running.

Attendees can also partake in a special silent auction to raise money for the Kids To Love Foundation. For every $10 attendees spend in the store, each will receive a ticket that can be used in the silent auction.

Kids To Love Foundation is a national organization that meet the needs of foster children while they wait for permanent homes. The local organization was founded in 2004 by Lee Marshall, a former local TV news anchor and former foster and adopted child herself, after she showcased foster children in a special TV segment. She began her crusade and now speaks out on behalf of the organization where she is CEO.

The evening event will also feature several local health experts including Advanced Life Clinic of Huntsville, which will offer Botox specials for just $10 per unit. Advanced Life Clinic is the region’s foremost destination for those interested in a whole-body approach to looking and feeling younger and is headed up by Dr. Hayley DeGraaff.

Chair massages by Bodywork will be available, beauty bars provided by Tonya Jones Salon Spa will be obtainable and an expert will be on hand for professional bra fittings to assist those in need of wearing the correct support during any physical activity.

Light food will be provided by Another Broken Egg located on Carl T. Jones Drive. The local restaurant is known for its exceptional dishes for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Door prizes will also be part of the festivities.

“Diva Night is truly a night our female runners look forward to every year,” said Thigpen. “It is a way for Fleet Feet to celebrate our diva runners and thank them for shopping local. The event is also a superb way to learn more about your health. This year having Lee Marshall speak will be an extra bonus.”

Fleet Feet is located at 2722 Carl T. Jones Drive in Jones Valley of Southeast Huntsville. More information on Diva Night and Fleet Feet is available on-line at www.fleetfeethsv.com.
