Beautification efforts recognized at luncheon
MADISON – Madison Beautification and Tree Board complimented the work of local business owners, neighborhoods and schools at the 2017 Madison Beatification Awards luncheon.
Best Western Plus hotel hosted the luncheon on June 22. “Properties and businesses of Madison were recognized for their contribution to ‘Keeping Madison Beautiful’ through their efforts and participation,” publicist Mike Keenan said.
Seventy-two locations earned a beautification award. “Twenty-six properties received an award of ‘Excellence,’ and 46 properties received ‘Honor Roll’ status,” Vice President of Beautification Amber Braman said.
To earn a rating of ‘Excellence’, owners must rate a perfect score of 100 by satisfying each judging standard category. To earn ‘Honor Roll’ status, a property must have received 95 points or higher for five consecutive years, Braman said.
