Vaughn elected president of Junior League of Huntsville
MADISON – Junior League of Huntsville has selected Madison resident Nancy W. Vaughn to serve as its president.
“I am honored to have been elected to serve as the Junior League of Huntsville’s President and continue the league’s longstanding legacy of service to our community,” Vaughn said.
Vaughn endorses the league’s exclusive goals for education and charitable volunteering. League members promote voluntarism, developing potential of women, and improving communities with effective action of trained volunteers. Vaughn joined in May 2008.
Numbering 450 individuals, Junior League of Huntsville members frequently volunteer in Madison. They have assisted with Madison Street Festival and conducted Apple Annie fundraisers, along with hosting Children’s Storytime hours, Affinity Group socials and membership recruitments in Madison.
In 2016, the league donated $8,000 to assist Summer Adventures in Learning or SAIL to help students overcome summer learning loss. This summer, Vaughn volunteered at Madison Elementary School for SAIL. Also, the Butterfly Project helps deserving girls to persevere through hardships.
As league president, Vaughn presides at club and director meetings, votes with numerous committees, serves as chief spokesperson and signs all contracts.
“I’m very passionate about community service and advancing (the league’s) mission,” Vaughn said. She will focus on promoting voluntarism by increasing opportunities for members to serve in community projects.

Nancy and husband Hunter relocated here from the Washington, D.C. area as newlyweds 10 years ago for his career as an aerospace engineer with U.S. Missile Defense Agency. An attorney, Nancy owns Legal Advantage Human Resources Solutions (legaladvantagehrsolutions.com).
Nancy Vaughn graduated summa cum laude from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tenn. with bachelor’s degrees in communication arts and political science. She earned the Doctor of Jurisprudence degree at Vanderbilt University Law School in Nashville.
Their daughter Mary, 6, will enter first grade at Mill Creek Elementary School.
The Vaughns own two Labrador mixes, nine-year-old Sadie and eight-year-old Kerwin.
