MADISON –  Both youth and adults will have meeting space after completion of a new building at Madison Bible church, 1520 Hughes Road.
“We’re excited that we can now provide space for our youth ministry and our Adult Bible Fellowship groups,” Senior Pastor Bill Young said. “It will be a place that allows us to welcome people from the community to join us as we teach the Word of God.”
The new building will provide six meeting rooms for adults and a large space with two rooms for youth. “We believe building more space at this location is being good stewards of what has been entrusted to us by God,” Young said.
Their existing building has 10,000-plus square feet, while the addition will have 8,000-plus square feet. Architecture group Foreman, Seeley, Fountain designed the expansion. Johnson Kreis is construction manager.
The project’s price tag is $1.5 million. “Because of our church family’s faithfulness, we’ve raised a significant portion of the funds needed to construct the building,” Young said.
The congregation held a groundbreaking ceremony on Oct. 30 and enjoyed a catered meal after the ceremony.
Madison Bible Church was established in the early 1990s and first used rented spaces, including a church building at Eastview and Slaughter roads. They built their current building in 2001.
The non-denominational church of about 200 people teaches all the Bible as the inspired word of God. They “glorify God by being a welcoming community that develops fully devoted followers of Christ through worship, teaching, fellowship, service and sharing the good news,” he said.
The church also sponsors annual retreats for men and women. Youth and adults attend retreats and go on short-term mission trips. The congregation financially supports global missionaries, Downtown Rescue Mission and Choose Life.
Sunday worship service start at 9:15 a.m. Sunday school classes follow at 10:45 a.m. Adults are encouraged to participate in Adult Bible Fellowships. Awana meets on Sunday at 4:45 p.m.
During the week, men, women and youth conduct Bible studies. An active College and Career group meets on Sunday at 10:45 a.m. and during the week.
