MADISON – Applying strength training and muscle coordination, Aubrie Densford knows that a dancer must be dedicated to develop skills for this demanding work.

For five years, Aubrie has danced at The Dance Company in classes for ballet, tap, beginners’ acrobatics and jazz. This year, she also started lessons in Irish dance at Fitness Arts Center.

“Aubrie loves all styles of dance, but her current favorite is Irish dancing because of the quick and precise footwork it requires,” her mother Laura Densford said. “Plus, she enjoys listening to the Irish music.”

Aubrie is a third-grader at Heritage Elementary School. She participates with her Brownie Troop in Girl Scouts and loves going to First Baptist Church of Madison.

Aubrie’s parents are Jonathan and Laura Densford. Jonathan works as an engineer at Adtran, while Laura is a stay-at-home mom. Aubrie’s twin brother Caleb also is in third grade at Heritage.

“We have lived in Madison for 10 years,” Laura said. “We moved here from southeast Huntsville for the schools and also because we love the community feeling that Madison has.”

Q&A

Q: At what restaurants do you enjoy eating?
A: “I would choose Sam and Greg’s because I love their pizza and gelato. It is so good,” Aubrie said.

Q: What is your favorite food?
A: “Anything sweet!”

Q: What are your favorite dance teams?
A: “The Rockettes. I really hope I will be a Rockette one day.”

Q: What’s your favorite performance memory?
A: “My favorite memory is performing on stage for my dance recitals. I am so excited to dance in ‘The Irish Nutcracker’ this December, too, with my friends. That will be very special,” Aubrie said. “I get to perform as a party guest, evil leprechaun (my favorite role), a gingie and a rainbow. I can’t wait to dance in it.”

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: “I like to bake treats, make crafts and play with my friends,” Aubrie said.
