MADISON – D. J. Klein, who currently represents District 3 on Madison City Council, has announced his bid to seek another term for the position.

Klein hopes to continue “to represent District 3 as their voice on the Madison City Council.”

Klein said he “has served the City of Madison with conviction and determination in bringing stable economic growth, infrastructure improvements and accountability in government since 2012.”

“During my first term, I am especially proud of the progress made on Town Madison and the redeveloped Intergraph site,” Klein said. “It took leadership and teamwork to make this project happen for the people of Madison.”

In 1998, Klein moved to Madison from St. Louis, Mo. with his family as part of the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC). He attended Liberty Middle School and Bob Jones High School.

After graduating from Bob Jones in 2001, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as a C130 Crew Chief. Klein was stationed in Little Rock, Ark. before returning to Madison in 2005. He earned a bachelor’s degree in management from Athens State University.

“I am committed to continuing the strides made in Madison’s downtown development,” Klein said. “There is still much work to be done, including implementing a widely accessible technology infrastructure.”

“My vision for Madison is for an open government with prudent spending of resources that truly benefits the community,” Klein said.

Klein is a small business owner and provides fiber optic networks and VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) phone solutions. He is an active member of Rotary Club of Madison.
