MADISON – New for the upcoming 2016-2017 school year, Madison City Schools launched online registration for new students on June 24.

This online registration for all grades follows the successful rollout of online registration for kindergarten, John Peck said. Peck works as the district’s manager of public relations.

“Online registration replaces our old system of registering at our Central Office,” Peck said. “The new system is more convenient for parents and guardians. Registration is available on a 24-hour basis and without a wait in line.”

On July 1, Madison City Schools will begin online re-enrollment for students already attending schools in the district. “We will send an email to parents and guardians of our current students, explaining the online re-enrollment process,” Peck said.

“Google Chrome web browser is the recommended browser to successfully use the online registration and re-enrollment for SchoolMint,” Peck said.

A user tutorial also is available “to help walk you through the registration process. Our technology team has put together instructions with a video https://youtu.be/HUFuQwPklTw,” Peck said.

Another helpful tool is the address lookup to find the school that a child will attend. To access this tool, visit madisoncity.k12.al.us and click “School Zones” in the list at the left. Then, click “Address Lookup.” On the “Address & Bus Route Lookup” window, type your home address.

“Once you have successfully uploaded and filled out the required fields and submitted your registration, you will then be notified with an email or text message stating your child was successfully registered at your zoned school,” Peck said.

MCS staff will email notification after reviewing documents and verifying the address. This notification will state “Registration verified.”

Registration information also is available at madisoncity.k12.al.us with the “Registration” link at the left.

“We look forward to welcoming your children to another exciting school year in Madison City Schools,” Peck said.
