Public meeting set for Zierdt Road interchange
MADISON – In a public meeting on Jan. 26, residents can comment on the proposed interchange on Interstate-565 and Zierdt Road, Hughes Road Extension and I-565 auxiliary lanes.
Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) and the City of Madison will conduct a public involvement meeting for the project on Jan. 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Madison Municipal Complex, 100 Hughes Road.
The proposed work includes addition of an interchange to I-565 near Zierdt Road, an extension for Hughes Road and auxiliary lanes on I-565 in Madison.
The meeting’s purpose is to ensure that any interested parties have an opportunity to provide input regarding this project and share their views and comments regarding potential impacts. The meeting’s format will be an informal session.
No formal speeches or presentations are planned. Representatives of the City of Madison, the developer, ALDOT and consultants will be available to answer any questions relative to the project. Attendees can review preliminary maps and tentative schedules.
Public comments will become part of the official project record. Residents can comment at any time before or during the meeting or within 10 days following the hearing. A recorder will be available for anyone wishing to leave recorded comments.
