MADISON – Following its annual tradition, the Town of Triana observed the Christmas season with special events and children’s activities.

Mayor Mary Caudle said spectators had a beautiful day on Dec. 12 for the Town of Triana Christmas Parade.

“In an effort to help our community, we asked that each person who attended to please bring at least one non-perishable canned good to help those in need,” Caudle said. Parade-goers dropped off their donation at the Triana gym after the parade.

Following the Triana parade, residents enjoyed a barbecue for the community.

To build excitement for the new “Star Wars” release, Triana Library held a free showing of “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi” on Dec. 11-12. Guests were not required to wear costumes, but everyone was encouraged to masquerade as a “Star Wars” character.

In addition, the library will host an arts-and-crafts session to build a gingerbread graham-cracker house on Dec. 22 at 3 p.m.

On Dec. 31 for New Year’s Eve, residents can celebrate the arrival of 2016 with a movie at 3 p.m. at the library.

Triana Library’s address is 650 6th St. For more information, call 256-772-9943 or email to triana@hmcpl.org.
