MADISON – Students at Heritage Elementary School recently enjoyed interacting with older role models, while supporting James Clemens High School and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

“We had an exciting morning at Heritage elementary,” second-grade teacher Ann E. Iott said. “Our school raised money for St. Jude and got pumped up for our first football play-off game for James Clemens at the same time.”

James Clemens football players assisted in car line. Members of the James Clemens Band Dance Line, the “Jettes,” sold donuts for $1 each to Heritage students. “The girls raised $200 for St. Jude,” Iott said.

Second-grader Ella Carter said, “My dad gave me $5 for two donuts because we wanted to give money to help sick kids.”

Another student, Lauren Lane, wants to be a Jettes dancer “when I go to James Clemens because they have beautiful uniforms.”
