HUNTSVILLE – A Social Security Administration representative will answer questions from the public at the downtown Huntsville-Madison County Public Library, 915 Monroe St. in Huntsville.

The representative “will talk about retirement, Medicare enrollment, spouse benefits, children’s benefits and more during two classes,” library communications director Ann Marie Martin said.

Classes are scheduled on Aug. 6 at 2 p.m. and Aug. 11 at 9:30 a.m. in the library’s Technology Training Center on the second floor.

“Participants are asked to prepare for the class beforehand by creating a ‘my Social Security’ online account at socialsecurity.gov/myaccount,” Martin said. “Registration assistance is available at ‘my Social Security – How To Create An Online Account.'”

After creating an account, the person can view earnings history, estimates for future benefits and more details. Participants are encouraged to bring their benefit estimate printouts to the class.

If individuals cannot create an account, assistance will be provided after the presentation.

For more information, call the library’s Technology Training Center at 256-532-2356.
