Bob Jones to host breastfeeding conference on Tuesday
MADISON – The “Breastfeeding Myths, Bottle-Feeding Mentality” conference will be held at Bob Jones High School on March 24.
The conference will feature nationally known expert Dr. Jack Newman and run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Zompa Auditorium. Sponsors for the conference are Madison Hospital, Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) at Bob Jones and Connections Breastfeeding.
“To celebrate Madison Hospital’s decision to go ‘baby-friendly,’ Dr. Newman will present a lunch session to discuss how some of the prevalent myths about breastfeeding arise from the bottle feeding mentality and how these myths interfere with our understanding of breastfeeding,” Nicole Roden said.
Roden coordinates marketing and public relations for Madison Hospital.
Currently, Newman works at the Newman Breastfeeding Clinic and Institute, based at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. He is author of “The Ultimate Breastfeeding Book of Answers.”
At 10 a.m. before the lecture, Newman also will have a book signing for the most recent edition of his “Guide to Breastfeeding” book.
