MADISON – Madison residents and area people looking to continue on with New Year’s Resolutions of staying healthy have an opportunity to bolster such convictions with a free health fair at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Saturday, Jan. 31 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Eileen Burke, who assisted with the event’s planning, said a myriad of medical professionals, including dentists, chiropractors, psychologists, physical therapists and more will be on hand to offer various medical screenings to attendees.

Screenings will include bone density tests, blood pressure tests, heart rate measurements, cholesterol tests and BMI calculations, among others.

“St. John’s is excited to sponsor this Wellness Fair,” said Jennifer Geist, organizer of the fair. “We invite Madison residents and visitors to join us and learn about medical and wellness resources available right in our community. This is a great place for people to find out how they can improve their health in 2015.  The event is free and open to all ages.”

Burke also mentioned that she hopes area residents will be educated on local health resources.

Exhibitors for the first-year event will include Huntsville Hospital, Crestwood Medical Center, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association and Asbury Counseling Center.

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church is located at 1055 Hughes Road in Madison between Bob Jones High School and Discovery Middle School. For more information, please call 256-722-0130.
