MADISON – A drizzly fall day did not discourage school-minded individuals to donate to the Free2Teach drive in Madison on Oct. 15.

“We had a very successful drive,” drive coordinator Dana Trulock said. “Overall, it was a fantastic day with steady turnout all day long.”

The Free 2 Teach organization collects supplies from companies, civic organizations and individuals and then allows teachers to shop for free at the Free2Teach store at 3054 Leeman Ferry Road in Huntsville.

“Free2Teach just reopened in their new location,” Trulock said. “The supplies were very needed.”

Free2Teach co-founder Eula Battle attended the Madison drive held at Asbury United Methodist Church. “Eula was very pleased and thankful for all the supplies,” Trulock said.

The Asbury Women ministry plans to host the Free2Teach drive annually.

Free2Teach allows teachers in Madison and Huntsville city schools and Madison County Schools to take free supplies for their classrooms. For a list of needed supplies, visit free-2-teach.org.
