Lee Deal Theatre Symposium scheduled for Saturday

HUNTSVILLE – The Arts Council and the theatre department at the University of Alabama in Huntsville will present the 2014 Lee Deal Theatre Symposium on Saturday.

The symposium will be held in Wilson Hall at UAH from 1 to 6:30 p.m. The Lee Deal Theatre Endowment and National Endowment for the Arts help to fund the event.

Mark Roberts, creator of the “Mike and Molly” TV comedy, will preside over a question-and-answer session, “Inside the Industry.” Bill Billions with Hollywood Huntsville will lead “Auditioning for Regional Commercial, Film and Voiceover Work.”

In another workshop, David Harwell with UAH Theatre will discuss “Low-Budget Solutions to Big-Budget Design Issues.” Attendees can attend a session with Julie Crawford, executive director of the American Association of Community Theatre.
