Salvation Army needs food donations
MADISON, HUNTSVILLE – The Salvation Army is asking the public to help restock its food pantry.
Organization leaders need food staples to fill family food boxes and said “anything and everything will help someone in need.”
Residents can take donations to the Salvation Army Thrift Store at 385 Hughes Road in Madison and the Huntsville offices at 2114 Oakwood Ave.
All types of food is needed:
* Breakfast items — Cereal, oatmeal, grits, cream of wheat, Pop Tarts, breakfast bars, pancake/muffin mixes, juices and evaporated and powdered milk.
* Canned meats — Spam, tuna fish, chicken, Vienna sausages, chili, hearty soup and fruits.
* Snacks — Peanut butter, jelly, crackers, juices and canned fruits.
* Dried goods — Instant potatoes, dried beans and rice.
* Condiments — Mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup.
The Salvation Army gladly will accept #10 (cafeteria size) cans.
