North Alabama mourns loss of Sasha Dison
MADISON – Athens, Madison and numerous other communities in the Tennessee Valley are mourning the loss of nine-year-old Alexandra ‘Sasha’ Dixon.
Sasha died at 4 a.m. on Sunday, April 27. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
Her parents are Jonathan and Larissa Dison.
Since May 2011, Sasha has fought Stage 4 rhabdomayosarcoma, a cancer that develops in the body’s connective tissue. Last weekend, doctors at Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham granted Sasha’s wish to come home.
“TCP (Taking Care of Paws) – Sasha’s Way,” a fundraiser that Sasha wanted to have to help sick and injured animals, will be held as planned on April 29. Madison Station Bar & Grill, 8694 Madison Blvd. will host TCP – Sasha’s Way from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
