Bob Jones students earn top spots at Spanish convention
MADISON – Students in Spanish at Bob Jones High School earned top places in the 43rd annual Federation of Spanish Convention at the University of Alabama.
Brody DeSilva took first-place honors for bilingual literary recitation and original T-shirt design. Also in first place, Amanda Darnell excelled in Level 4 vocabulary and Megan Carter aced Level 3 verbs.
Bob Jones students also won first place in the scrapbook cover contest.
Beka Hicks ranked in second place for bilingual literary recitation. Other second-place winners were Crystal Ganatra, two-dimensional art; Will Jackson, Level 4 verbs; Mugdha Mokashi, Level 4 literary recitation; and Ashley Pursifull, poster.
Lauryn Rody, the only non-native speaker, earned fourth place in native poetry recitation.
