DAR members promote Constitution Week on Sept. 17-23

MADISON – Chapter regents with the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) promoted Constitution Week at the Madison City Council meeting on Aug. 26.

Madison Mayor Troy Trulock signed a proclamation declaring Sept. 17-23 as Constitution Week for the city. DAR regents from the Hunt’s Spring, Maple Hill, Huntsville and Twickenham Town chapters attended the signing.

“The DAR chapters invite the public to a free ceremony for Constitution Week, ‘Ringing the Bells Across America,’ on Sept. 17 at 3:30 p.m. at Constitution Village in downtown Huntsville,” chairman Rhonda Larkin said. “DAR members will celebrate the 226th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution.”

DAR representatives at the council meeting were Hunt’s Spring Regent Myra Slifka, Constitution Week Chairman Rhonda Larkin, Huntsville chairman Davie Williams, Maple Hill Regent Janet Deaton, Twickenham Town Regent Lucile Adams and Maple Hill Chairman Val Myers.
