Liberty to hold Instrument Petting Zoo on Tuesday
MADISON – A different kind of ‘petting zoo’ will be held Tuesday at Liberty Middle School. Prospective band students will have a hands-on experience at the Instrument Petting Zoo.
Beginning band students and sixth-grade Honor Band students and their parents are urged to attend the petting zoo on Tuesday, April 30 at 6 p.m. in the band room.
“Incoming band students will try out each instrument and will choose which instrument they would like to play next year,” Liberty Director of Bands Gwen Rakoff said.
The event is important not only to introduce band students to various woodwind, brass and percussion instruments but also to allow the band director and registrar at Liberty to place band students in the correct classes.
Families who cannot attend should email to grakoff@madisoncity.k12.al.us.
