Madison police officer arrested for alleged sexual abuse
The Madison City Police Department has placed officer William Watson on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation, according to the department.
On Aug. 13, the Madison City Police Department was notified the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office had received allegations of possible misconduct between a Madison police officer and a family member.
After investigating the allegations, Limestone County sheriff’s deputies obtained an arrest warrant for Watson. He will be charged with first-degree sexual abuse and booked into the Limestone County Jail.
Watson is on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal inquiry. The investigation is ongoing.
