Madison City Schools announce top two teachers, staff member
Cynthia Rhodes and Amy Thaxton are the elementary and secondary teachers of the year for Madison City Schools.
Rhodes teaches fourth grade at Madison Elementary School, and Thaxton teaches eleventh-grade English at Bob Jones.
The staff member of the year is Anita Parker, who is a clerical aide at Discovery Middle School.
The announcement was made around 11 a.m. today at Employee Institute Day at Bob Jones High School, where school employees met for a morning of speeches, discussion of curriculum and camaraderie.
Rhodes and Thaxton will go on to compete for the elementary and secondary teachers of the year for all of Alabama.
