No injuries in Rocket Center shooting

Three shots were fired into the building that houses the Saturn V rocket just before 10 a.m. Thursday morning.

According to police at least one bullet hit the rocket, but no one was injured and the scene is secure. Huntsville Police are investigating the incident.

Investigators say the shots were likely fired from Interstate 565 that runs next to the tourist attraction.

Several school groups were at the museum at the time of the shooting, and Space and Rocket Center officials issued a letter to visitors about the incident.

Spokesman Tim Hall told them that the shots were fired from outside the building, and police are searching for the shooter or shooters.
