Free2Teach kicks off tonight at Sci-Quest

The kick-off for Free2Teach will be held today from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Sci-Quest Hands-On Science Center, 102-D Wynn Drive in Huntsville.

Free2Teach is a 501(c)3 charitable organization that supplies classroom supplies to teachers, who today must buy the materials themselves. The 3,500 teachers in 84 public schools across Madison County will benefit.

Featured speakers will be Superintendent Dr. Casey Wardynski, Huntsville City Schools; Tina Watts, The Boeing Company; Dr. Raymona Bevel; and Eula Battle and Nancy Jones, Free2Teach co-chairmen.

Qualis Corporation is sponsoring the event. Members of the Huntsville/Madison County Leadership — Class 25 will host, including Stephen Cayson, SMDC; Bobby Ginn, Crestwood Hospital; Michael Morard, Qualis Corporation; Cyndy Morgan, Sci-Quest; Kevin Wieseman, Huntsville City Schools; and Valerie Miles, Summit Realtors.

Cost is $10 with proceeds going to Free2Teach. Refreshments will be served.
